Thank you to Nicky and Nicola from Allstate Strabane who brought their "Little girls with big goals" project to some of the Primary 6 girls this week. The project focused on empowering the girls to follow their hearts talents and dreams and pursue life choices that will allow them to achieve amazing things. Many thanks to all those who attended our Macmillan Coffee Morning in the Junior School Canteen today. More than £600 was raised for this very worthy cause. Congratulations to Roisin Conwell who won the raffle prize, a Macmillan teapot cake created by Siobhan McCay. More photos of the Coffee Morning are now available to view in the School Gallery.
Well done to the Families Together couch to 5k group who completed their second training session yesterday in preparation for the St Mary's 5K on 20th October. The group enjoyed a brisk walk/run followed by a cup of tea in the Junior School. The group continues next Thursday at 9am, new recruits always welcome! Congratulations to new Head Girl Cara and new Head Boy Sean Og who were elected to their positions by their fellow pupils this morning. Congratulations also to Conor and Enya who will be deputy head boy/girl. Also well done to all the Primary 7 children who gave speeches this morning seeking election. A huge welcome to our new Primary 1 pupils who have now all taken their place in school. The boys and girls are settling in really well, making new friends and learning new things. Photos of our new Primary 1 pupils are now available to view in the School Gallery.
St Mary's are organising a 5k run and 1k fun run on Saturday 20th October 2018. Registration is now open by clicking on the link HERE or on the home page on the website. If you wish to fill out a paper registration form these will be available from the school office from tomorrow. Registration costs £7 per adult or £3 per child. £20 family registration is also available, this can be paid in the school office or on the day of the run. In preparation for the 5k St Mary's P.S. Parenting Group will be hosting training sessions on Thursday mornings in the Junior School. The first session will take place this Thursday 13th September at 9.00am followed by tea/coffee and refreshments. Everyone is welcome to take part.
Good luck to the Tyrone Ladies Intermediate team who take on Meath in the All Ireland Final on the 16th September. Three of the team came to the Junior and Senior Schools today to talk to the boys and girls. Everyone at St Mary's would like to wish the girls all the best. Come on Tyrone!
