Curriculum
A new statutory Revised Curriculum has been phased in over the past few years and from September 2009 all year groups will follow this new curriculum
The emphasis of this Revised Curriculum has moved from the acquisition of facts and a static body of knowledge to the acquisition of skills to prepare children for life and work in the 21st century
The Revised Curriculum consists of the following areas of study:
- Numeracy and Mathematics
- Religious Education
- The World Around Us
- Creative and Expressive
- Personal Development and Mutual Understanding
- Physical Development and Movement.
There are also two other areas which permeate the whole Curriculum, Thinking Skills and Personal Capabilities and Assessment For Learning.
