The Nursery Art Exhibition takes place at 7pm tonight in the Junior School. The children from Melmount nursery got a sneek preview of all the works of art on display.
The P4 children, under the direction of Mrs Patton took advantage of the recent good weather and got their hands dirty fixing up the raised flower beds. More photos of the children hard at work can be seen in the school garden page.
The children in Mrs Haughey's P3 class got to visit the mobile cinema to take part in the "Kids’ Own Book Factory"During the 2-hour workshops the children were asked to close their eyes and spend a minute or two to ask themselves what is important to them in their lives. With the assistance of the facilitators the children then assembled a book and drew and wrote their thoughts into it. More photos of the event can be seen on the P3 page.
The Primary 4 children paid a visit to the Ulster American Folk Park last week as part of their topic "School Long Ago". The children got first hand experience of what it was like to go to school in the olden days. Photos of the visit can be seen on the P4 Page.
Congratulations to all of the St Mary's Pop Tappers who took part in the All-Ireland competitions in Dublin before Easter.
Congratulations to Sean in P4 who won the Player of the Tournament award in the recent Barcelona Cup.
Congratulations to Kelvin, Adhamh and Aoibheann, members of the Sion Swifts "2006's" who won the 3rd place trophy at a worldwide football competition held in Barcelona last weekend. They were unlucky to be defeated 1-0 in the semi-final by a Belgian team in a game where they felt very few refereeing decisions went their way! Well done to Aoibheann and the boys.
Amy and Ali From the NSPCC came to St Mary's on Friday to discuss how the charity helps children, and advise the children what to do if they need help. The children will be taking part in "Buddy's big workout" - a series of sporting challenges - in an effort to raise money for the charity.
