POp Up Art Gallery
On the 26th February we visited Strabane’s Pop-up Art Gallery. Our Art teacher, Bronagh, showed us around and told us which schools did the various pieces of artwork. She showed us how to do two separate pieces of art work. We were put into two groups, the first group coloured in CDs, and the second group got to do different work with blue paper. We then swapped and were able to do both things. I did my CD first and I was amazed at how easily you can make something so beautiful, out of an old CD. On my CD, I drew a red rose with some leaves. Then, when I finished the CD, I started to draw on a see-through bag. Once I had finished, I took the bag to Bronagh, and she put a special blue page over it and then left it exposed to the light for 2 minutes. After the 2 minutes had passed, I dipped the page in water and using a spoon I splashed water all over the page. Suddenly you could see what I had drawn on my bag, a black Dolphin. My friends and I really enjoyed doing art at the Gallery and I hope that in the future I’ll get to do more art like that.
